The Missouri Real Estate Commission met and made the following decisions affecting real estate renewals and continuing education requirements for 2020.
Renewals:
- Broker expiration dates will be extended from June 30, 2020 until August 31, 2020.
- Salesperson expiration dates will be extended from September 30, 2020 until October 31, 2020.
Continuing Education:
- Meeting CE requirements for Brokers has been extended from June 30, 2020 until August 31, 2020.
- Meeting CE requirements for Salespersons has been extended from September 30, 2020 until October 31, 2020.
- The one Core course in Real Estate Ethics will still be required.
- CE hours for Brokers completed after June 30, 2020 and before the license is renewed cannot also be used for 2022 renewal.
- CE hours for Salesperson completed after September 30, 2020 and before the license is renewed cannot also be used for 2022 renewal.
License Applications:
- For those applicants completing the 48-hour Missouri Salesperson Pre-Examination Course after March 1, 2020, they will be granted a sixty-day extension beyond the certificate expiration date to complete all phases of the application process.
- For those applicants completing the 48-hour Missouri Broker Pre-Examination Course after March 1, 2020, they will be granted a sixty-day extension beyond the certificate expiration date to complete all phases of the application process.
- For a non-resident with an active license in another state and who has completed the state examination after March 1, 2020, they will be granted a sixty-day extension beyond the certificate expiration date to complete all phases of the application process.

2020 IS RENEWAL YEAR -Are You Ready..?
Even numbered years are renewal years for all Missouri real estate licensees. Broker and entity licenses expire June 30, 2020. Salesperson licenses expire September 30, 2020.
About 2.5 months prior to the expiration of your license, MREC will mail renewal notices to the address you have on file with MREC. Therefore, make sure your address is correct with MREC before April 1, 2020. Rule 20 CSR 2250-4.020 (4) requires a licensee to notify MREC within 10 days of an address change.
Brokers who have all continuing education (CE) completed prior to April 1, 2020 and Salespersons who have all CE completed prior to July 1, 2020 will receive a renewal postcard in the regular mail. Those licensees may renew on-line using the PIN and license number stated on their renewal postcard. Licensees who have not completed the CE prior to the above dates will receive a regular renewal form and must renew through regular mail; however, if the CE is completed at least two weeks prior to the expiration of the license, the licensee “may” still be able to renew on-line. It is important to get your CE done early! Don’t wait to the last minute to try to get it completed.
