The three major credit reporting agencies Equifax, Experian and TransUnion have announced that beginning July 1st they will no longer be reporting tax liens and civil judgement data on their reports. The reason for this change is that many liens and most judgments fail to include vital pieces of information. In addition to not reporting these items, non-compliant data will be removed from existing reports as well. FICO estimates the changes will cause an improvement to about 12 million consumer scores.
