As a REALTOR® member of the Association, NAR grants you a limited license to use the REALTOR® Marks to indicate membership in NAR subject to NAR’s Trademark Rules.
Keep the following in mind when using the REALTOR® Marks:
- Members may use the REALTOR® Marks for the sole purpose of indicating membership in NAR.
- The REALTOR® Marks may not be used to connote a profession or title.
- Members may only use the REALTOR® Marks in connection with their real estate business.
Have you ever wondered what the correct pronunciation is for REALTOR®? So many people say re’al-a-tor but it does not have three syllables! The correct pronunciation is REAL-tore and is only two syllables (see page 4 of the manual).
What makes a REALTOR® different from a regular real estate agent? A REALTOR® is a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics; in other words, that person is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (see page 4 of the manual).
