The St. Charles County Planning Division would like to inform all lenders, real estate agents, insurance agents, flood plain determination companies and the general public of the National Flood Insurance Program Information available in our office for the unincorporated portions of St. Charles County.
As a public service, the Planning Division will provide customers with the following information upon request:
– Whether a property is affected by the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) as shown on the current Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) of the County. St. Charles County will not determine whether flood insurance is required. Lenders are required to do an official determination.
– Information on flood proofing, elevation certificates and about obtaining necessary permits in the flood plain.
– Information from elevation certificates for most post-FIRM structures.
